How these questions are written
Here is how the question sets are made, what this site will not do, and how to tell us when something is wrong.
What this site is
A reference library for conversations you want to prepare for: an interview, a first date, a specialist appointment, a contractor quote, a hard talk with a parent. Each set is a list of questions, and each question carries a short note on why it is worth asking and what the answer tends to reveal.
It is not a magazine, a directory of professionals, or a source of advice. It helps you walk into a room with better questions than you would have thought of under pressure.
How a set is written
- Sets are drafted against a real situation, then ordered so the easy openers come first and the more searching questions come later, once the conversation has warmed up.
- Every question must earn its place with a specific reason to ask it. If the reason could be pasted onto any other question, the question gets rewritten or cut.
- Each set is checked against a schema before it can publish: no empty questions, no duplicated reasoning inside a set, and no page that merely repeats another page.
- Drafting is assisted by AI and every set is reviewed against those checks before release. We would rather say that plainly than imply a newsroom that does not exist.
What this site will not do
- No invented numbers. Pages once carried lines like “used by 10,000+ people” in their search descriptions. There was no such data. All 993 of them have been removed, and no popularity, ranking or endorsement claim will be published unless it is measured and verifiable.
- Nothing hidden. Every question on every page is readable for free, with no account, no email wall and no partial list. An earlier version of this site hid 15 of 20 questions behind a checkout that then gave them away; it is gone.
- No advertising on medical, legal or end-of-life pages. These are the pages where a reader is most exposed, and they are excluded from any commercial placement. If sponsorship or affiliate links ever appear elsewhere, they will be labelled as such on the page, not buried in a policy.
- No advice. Questions to bring to a doctor or a lawyer are not medical or legal advice, and the pages say so where it matters.
Photography
Every photograph is public domain or CC0, self-hosted, and put through the same duotone treatment so the site reads as one piece. Attribution is not required by those licences; the photographers are credited anyway on the photo credits page.
Corrections
If a question is wrong, misleading, unkind, or out of date, tell us and it gets fixed or removed. Email [email protected] with the page address. Corrections to substance are made on the page itself rather than quietly.
