About Question Vault
Better questions lead to better conversations. That’s the whole premise.
Question Vault is a library of questions for conversations you want to get right: first dates, job interviews, family dinners, doctor’s appointments, hard talks and quiet reflection.
Why the rationale matters
Every question comes with a rationale: why to ask it, and what the answer tends to reveal. Lists of questions are easy to find. Knowing why a question works is what makes you better at the conversation, rather than just better at reading aloud from a list.
How the vault is organised
Sets are grouped into 8 categories — 3,382 sets and 69,534 questions between them at the last count. Each set is long enough to sustain a real conversation but short enough to actually use, and many also include a conversation guide covering preparation, follow-ups and common pitfalls.
What do you handle, and what do I need to take to someone else?
What we hold ourselves to
Four standards
- Every question readable for free. No account, no email wall, no partial list.
- No invented statistics, rankings or endorsements anywhere on the site.
- No advertising on medical, legal or end-of-life pages.
- Copy or print any set to take it with you.
What we’re optimising for
- Questions you would actually ask, in the order that works.
- A note under every one of them saying why it is worth asking.
- Nothing gated: no account, no email wall, no partial list.
